Biography
 

Michelle Kaptur shares her wilderness home in Oregon with her dogs and horses. Her closest neighbors are the deer, elk and coyote that often stroll through her yard. Born and raised in Palm Springs, CA, Michelle's appreciation and fascination with nature lured her to Oregon where she graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Arts with a bachelor of Fine Arts.
She first saw glass blowing as a child at Knotts Berry Farm, "mom couldn't drag me away". In 1975 she entered another glass blowing studio and was permanently hooked. Six years slipped by as she learned to dance with glass. Michelle's next calling took her to Bend where she became intimate with wilderness, met sled dogs and explored painting, color and composition. But after nine years her passion for glass blowing landed her in Cannon Beach where she worked for two summers with Icefire Glassworks.

Now on her own, with her own studio, she has become one of the most talented glass artists in the western United States. Michele's exquisite glass work is highly prized and sought after by collectors throughout the country.
